Shock Absorbing Finger CapFrom the Regional Plastic Surgery and Burns Centre, Whiston Hospital, Prescot, Merseyside Correspondence: Mr J. H. We describe the use of a custom-made cap or sleeve made of a visco-elastic polymer offering protection for the tip of the hypersensitive finger or thumb. Of 35 digits treated, relief of symptoms was achieved in 83%. In many cases, cold intolerance was also relieved.
