Uncommon Number and Distribution of the Pacinian Corpuscles in a Human HandFrom the Department of Anatomy, Autonomous University of Barcelona, Spain Correspondence: Professor Dr. J. M. Domenech-Mateu, Department of Anatomy, Faculty of Medicine, Autonomous University of Barcelona, 08193 Bellaterra, Spain. We describe some rare findings seen when dissecting the hands of a 65-year-old male cadaver. Very many lamellated (Pacinian) corpuscles were distributed all over the palms of both hands. They were normal in structure, but their size was greater (8 mms. in length and 5 mms. across) than the normal (2 mms. in length and 100–500 µms. across). Each lamellated corpuscle had only one nervous pedicle.
