Madelungs DeformityA surgical techniqueFrom the Connecticut Combined Hand Surgery Service: Hartford Hospital, University of Connecticut, Newington Childrens Hospital, Hartford, Yale University, New Haven, Connecticut, and University of Massachusetts, Worcester, Massachusetts, USA Correspondence: H. Kirk Watson, MD, 85 Seymour Street, 816, Hartford, CT 06106, USA. 15 wrists with Madelungs deformity were operated on between 1972 and 1990, constituting the largest series of radial osteotomies reported for this deformity to date. The technique that evolved is described in detail, as are the preliminary follow-up results. All patients reported symptomatic relief and return to normal activity levels.
