Elliot, St Andrews Centre for Plastic Surgery, Billericay, Essex, UK. Traumatic rupture of Dupuytrens contracture is rare. It has been reported only twice in recent times and only on four previous occasions over the last millenium. These cases are reported and the forces involved in rupturing Dupuytrens contracture are discussed.
