Subungual Glomus Tumours: A Different Approach to Diagnosis and TreatmentFrom the Department of Orthopaedics and Traumatology, Dokuz Eylül University School of Medicine, Izmir, Turkey Correspondence: A. Nine cases of subungual glomus tumour in which a transillumination test was used for diagnosis and a different operative technique was used to prevent postoperative nail deformity are described. The transillumination test is a new method for identifying a glomus tumour. With our surgical technique it is simple to approach a glomus tumour under the proximal nail bed and it produces a minimal defect.
